Siri-ously fun

I finally got my company phone. One guess what phone I chose. Well the torch was a company phone of course... But that's all it ever was... A company phone which happens to have bbm.

I've only been using the iPhone 4S for one day, haven't had much time to play with it. But I must say it certainly is impressing me very well in many aspects.

Yes I am still using my nexus s as it is still my primary phone although a colleague of mine was bewildered at how a person can get an iPhone and not use it as a primary phone. Well... That's me, I guess =)

The phone is very pretty. I got the white version which is incredibly pretty. Yes I know it looks exactly the same as the iPhone 4... But it's still one of the best looking phones around. But strangely I find it a little bit too delicate and kinda too flat. I am a really big fan of the curvy nature of the nexus s as it feels really comfortable in the hand even though the nexus s is totally plasticky and doesn't have the premium-ness of the iPhone. Also, I'm a big fan of headphone jacks at the bottom like the NS. I find it a lot more natural to just slot the phone into my pocket after I play with it and therefore bottom jacks make a lot more sense. But maybe that's just me. So in terms of design NS surprisingly wins.

In terms of keyboard, the iPhone wins hands down. For some reason it is really really accurate. I think all my friends and families can give testimonies as to how awful my virtual keyboard typing is. This post (and the previous) was typed on the iPhone with minimal correcting and I must say it turned out pretty good. And I'm typing pretty fast, no reserves.

One thing I find really annoying is how frequently the phone asks me to log on and type my password for apple ID. It is extremely extremely annoying. Why would apple think I will just simply hand over my phone to strangers? And I don't know how to change this setting, or even if I can change it at all.

It was a marvel watching iTunes transfer my considerably big music library just like that. And the playlist is compatible with a few that I already have in my vlc player so that was totally awesome.

I like how iOS has a blogger app. I find it puzzling that android doesn't. Isn't the service owned by google? I really really wanted a blogger app, obviously I am already using it now, so I'm totally psyched. I sure hope the android version will become available soon. Obviously there are already third party clients, but I still want google's.

I've been browsing the app store too and wow there sure are a lot of good looking games on it. It sure isn't fair that we don't get as much on android...

And of course Siri. It's surprisingly fun to try it out and I can see that it can be a sustainable technology and not just a novelty. Sure it won't give good response of you ask too complicated stuff or plain stupid questions, but in general it works quite well. It is really good at helping you set up alarm and reminders and appointments and such and to help you quickly search for stuff on the web and call someone when your hands are kinda tied up. I haven't used it in a lot of situations yet but so far I am quite pleasantly surprised at the outcomes.

I sure can't wait to twiddle with my phone more and I can't wait for my NS to get ice cream sandwich... Come on google, gimme gimme gimme ICS.

Ok my hand is totally cramped now because the iPhone is not the most comfortable phone to hold for a long time... But anyway, it's amazing I can type this much this fast on a phone. Nice.
